The Caromoon Collective: A Four-Month Playwriting Programme

The Caromoon Collective is an intensive four-month programme designed to transform a play idea into a full-length script. The selected writers will commit to a collaborative and structured writing process, aiming to simplify the solitary nature of playwriting. It offers a safe space for growth, development, peer mentorship, and the definitive goal of completing a full-length play, culminating in a showcase at a London fringe theatre.

Your Commitment:

  • Write and complete one full-length play (over 60 minutes) in four months.

  • Attend four mandatory, in-person, three-hour monthly meetings in London.

  • Maintain a weekly writing schedule, share your work, and provide creative support to peers.

  • Arrive at each session with new material and leave with clear monthly targets and notes.

  • Engage in a monthly peer-to-peer feedback partnership (in-session and offline).

  • By the end of the programme, you will have a full draft of your play.

  • Join rehearsals of your play extract and experience how actors take it from your writing to a rehearsed reading with a professional director.

  • A final London showcase where a company of professional actors present an extract of your play to friends, family, and industry collaborators.

  • The Collective costs £149 for the whole programme, which includes one free ticket for the showcase performance.

  • Please note the Collective is only open to UK residents.

  • Workshop 2, Sunday 21 February 2027

  • Workshop 3, Sunday 21 March 2027

  • Workshop 4, Sunday 18 April 2027

  • Showcase at the Hen and Chickens Theatre, Sunday 16 May 2027

  • Locations - Workshops will take place at the Cockpit Theatre London and the showcase will be at the Hen and Chickens Theatre.

  • All of these sessions are mandatory.
