The Caromoon Company: A Five Month Acting Programme

The Caromoon Company is an intensive five-month programme designed to take early-career actors from training into performance. The selected cohort of actors will commit to a structured programme of workshops and rehearsal, culminating in three separate performance opportunities on a real London stage — a rehearsed reading, a monologue night, and a closing duologue showcase, all attended by real audiences on a London theatre stage.

Your Commitment:

  • Attend all mandatory, in-person, workshops at a central London rehearsal space.

  • Prepare and rehearse for three staged performances across the programme.

  • Engage directly with new writing and new writers throughout.

  • Commit to the full five-month programme, from November through to March (dates TBC).

  • Arrive at each session ready to work, and support fellow actors in the cohort, including mentoring of each other between each session.

The Experience:

  • A structured, supportive environment to build technique, develop your craft and work on real scripts in a professional environment.

  • Three genuine performance opportunities, not workshop showings: a rehearsed reading, a monologue night, and a duologue showcase.

  • Direct engagement with new plays, drawn from Caromoon's own community of writers.

  • The benefit of fellow actors who you will work alongside and mentor each other across the programme.

  • A free industry showcase night, where you can invite agents, theatres and casting directors to see you perform at no cost to them. All other performances will be ticketed, and no additional complimentary tickets will be available.

  • The Company costs £199 for the whole programme, covering all workshops and all three performances. Please note, Caromoon Productions cannot provide any travel or subsidence as part of the programme.

This programme is ideal for you if you:

  • Are an early-career actor, within your first years since graduating drama school.

  • Are looking for stage time in front of real audiences, not just workshop practice.

  • Want to build a working relationship with new writers, fellow actors and brand new plays.

  • Are ready to commit to five months of training, rehearsal and performance.

    The programme:

  • Workshops once a month developing techniques, practice and preparing for the performances.

  • Rehearsed Reading Performance — Two performances of scripts drawn from Caromoon's own Collective writers.

  • Monologue Night — Two performances of monologues selected from new writers in the Caromoon community.

  • Duologue Nights — Two performances: a ticketed public night, and a free industry-only showcase.

    How to apply:

  • Applications will open in Autumn 2026.
